As the second day of racing at the 2015 TT on the Isle of Man got underway, fans were in for a pair of emotional results in both the first Supersport race and the Superstock race.

After establishing himself as a top TT rider, including a record-setting five wins in one TT week (2010), Ian Hutchinson suffered a terrible crash at Silverstone that same year and began a long period of recovery and further set backs as he struggled to return to motorcycle racing. In 2012 Hutchinson broke his left leg again, but continued to do everything possible to return to racing both road and short circuit events.

On Tuesday, Hutchy won both the Supersport and then Superstock races, triggering a flood of support on social media congratulating him on his perseverance and return to the TT winner’s circle.

Above, William Dunlop has withdrawn from the 2015 TT due to a crash on Monday in which he sustained a broken rib.
