GENERAL Questions:

You take such nice photos, you must have a really good camera, huh?

Some of the photo contributors have included gear lists. Please visit the About page for links to the contributors’ individual pages.

How much funny business goes on at the computer before you show an image on this website?

Scott says: I shoot in RAW format, so each and every image I post online receives at least a minimum amount of Contrast, Vibrance, and Sharpness adjustment. In order to give an idea of how much of this goes one, please take a look at posts in the Technique area to see before and after examples.

Does Scott do workshops or private instruction?

Occasionally Scott offers a workshop in a classroom setting. If you want to hear one-on-one how he does his thing, feel free to get in touch. But don’t get your hopes up about instruction trackside at a MotoGP race unless you can arrange your own credential for that event.

SHOP Questions:

Do you ship internationally?

All the time! Our most popular shipping destinations are the U.K., Australia, Europe, Japan. But we also ship occasionally to South Africa, South America, and other parts of Asia.

Why don’t you include a hologram sticker for authenticity?

We have considered it. But when looking to source hologram stickers we discovered that they are so easy to produce, they confer no real guarantee of authenticity. Just Google this and see how many sources there are! If a counterfeiter is going to try to scam victims with signed merchandise, it’s no trouble at all to include a hologram sticker in the forgery. Including one does add to the cost of the item, however, and in Scott’s opinion, increases costs without adding any real value. We believe the other steps we take to ensure authentic are of greater value to our customers.

May I buy the hi-res digital file on an image?

Sorry, we do not release hi-res files to non-editorial sources.

Are these prints done in your basement on an inkjet printer?

All of the prints we sell are produced at one of two professional labs with whom we have worked closely for years. That is the only way we can deliver the premium, archival quality we offer with the variety of print formats available (lustre and metallic photo papers, Giclée canvas, metal prints etc).

Are your products guaranteed?

We offer two types of guarantee for our customers. The first is a guarantee of authenticity (link) that pertains to rider-signed prints. The second is what we think of as a Peace of Mind guarantee that relates to non-signed prints: any non-rider-signed print purchased from PHOTO.GP is guaranteed for the life of the original buyer against ANY defect. This includes defects such as not surviving a fall, failure to withstand a fire, suffering folds, wrinkles or Sharpie defacement by a child before the print could be framed. Any damaged print can be returned to us for a free replacement (in the case of fire, substitute a copy of the insurance claim or other official document related to the event). This does not apply to framing, matting or other post-printing services.

CONTENT Questions

I think my photos and/or text would fit well the content offered at PHOTO.GP. Can I contribute?

We’re happy to take a look at what you’re doing to see if we agree that you’d fit in well here. A few guidelines: please don’t send an email with loads of hi-res photos. Instead, post them somewhere and send us a link so we can see your work. If you have an article you think we’d like, go ahead and send that in an email and we’ll get back to you with an offer to publish or a kind thanks anyway.

Can I license PHOTO.GP images for use on my website?

Probably. Please email us with the details of what you’d like to do: how many images per month, what size images you need, and what your website numbers. We’ll reply with a license fee or request for more detailed info.
