Danny Kent grid Sachsenring 2015Danny Kent has Moto3 by the, erm, neck – fast, consistent and smart is the formula for a world title.

Fabio Quartararo Alpinestars Sachsenring 2015Usually scuff marks away from an elbow slider are caused by a fall, but given the pristine state of Fabio Quartararo’s Alpinestars suit, I suspect that this is another instance of Sachsenring’s many successive left turns causing trouble, similar to the extreme wear on left knee sliders. I’m guessing he wore through a slider and got into the plastic piece sewn into the suit.

Bradley Smith Ixon knee slider Sachsenring 2015Rather than a double slider on the left knee, Bradley Smith used a slider that appeared to have a hardened cap on it. After only the sighting lap, the top layer of the left slider had melted into the twisted glop that Smith had to work back and forth to remove.

Yonny Hernandez Pramac Ducati Sachsenring 2015Who was just in front of Valentino Rossi on the grid at Sachsenring? This guy: Yonny Hernandez!

Denis Pazzaglini Dani Pedrosa Sachsenring 2015The hills are alive with the sound of MotoGP. Of course, this is Germany rather than Austria.

Eugene Laverty Michael Laverty Sachsenring 2015While photographing Eugene Laverty, I heard someone call my name, “Scott! Scott!” It was Pippa Morson, who pointed out to me that Eugene’s brother Michael was in the grid spot next to his. Aleix and Pol are no longer the only pair of brothers in the premier class.

Next time, race action from Germany.
