Ulster Grand Prix 2015 – Day 2
Thursday at the Ulster Grand Prix 2015 saw plenty of drama, highlighted by Guy Martin’s crash. Pictured above just before the crash, Martin was leading the Dundrod 150 Superbike race when he experienced a quick high side that flipped him over his BMW and into a field. Martin glanced off a blue barrier and was very fortunate to barely miss an immovable object when the blue padded barriers fell away. Second place man Bruce Anstey passed without incident, though distracted by the race leader’s crash. Video of the accident is available here via the BBC.
Martin suffered a fractured vertebra, several broken ribs and a broken sternum which will likely have him on the sideline for the remainder of the road racing season.
After inheriting the lead, Anstey went on to win.
Martin was thus denied his 15th Dundrod victory.
