My first time back in the WSBK paddock since 2012, and again I was reminded of how much I hope we never lose this ‘second’ World Championship in motorcycle road racing.

Check out those instances of chipped paint on his helmet. This is the current WSBK champion and 2014 points leader. He’s the man to beat in WSBK. And he’s riding around with chipped paint on his crash hat.

I’m trying to recall ever seeing chipped paint on the helmets of Rossi, Marquez, Pedrosa, Lorenzo. I don’t think so.
