With the British GP at Silverstone right around the corner, Dorna yesterday announced a five year agreement with the Circuit of Wales starting in 2015.

Unfortunately, the new circuit, which looks fantastic in the various renderings, will not be ready next year. Will it be ready in 2016? We can only hope so.

As a photographer, I miss MotoGP being held at Donington Park, which was a fantastic circuit for photographs. For all of its strengths as a spectator venue, Silverstone is not a favorite spot of mine for photographing MotoGP.

The Circuit of Wales looks like it will be even better than Donington, based on the drawings and animations shown in the video that accompanies the BBC’s coverage of yesterday’s agreement.

So, fingers crossed for Wales and a bright future of MotoGP in Ebbw Vale(ntino).
