When Colin Edwards announced his retirement at CotA earlier this year, I can’t say I was too surprised that the moment had finally come. But even when you’re expecting something to be right around the corner, when it actually arrives it can still be a shock. At that point I faced the fact that he’d not be riding the next season, and I knew things would be different.

You can’t really say, “Colin Edwards is one of those riders who…” Because there is no other rider that brings his unique blend of camo-wearing, Cope-chewin’, gun-slingin’ Texas swagger to MotoGP. In the paddock he is one of the most frequently complimented riders, as so many people truly enjoy the personality he brings to the show.

It’s a shame the way things have worked out with Forward Racing for his final year as a premier class rider. Many, many people will miss him as a regular fixture in MotoGP.

as much as i love col in motogp it seemed to me for the last couple years he had little interest in being there , on the plus side he will be haunting social media with his humour more regularly 😉
