After an exciting battle between the two Repsol Honda riders for Pole Position at Aragon, Tech3 Yamaha rider and MotoGP rookie Pol Espargaro claimed the fourth spot on the grid and honors at top Yamaha man.

His performance was more remarkable for the fact that he was surrounded by riders with either factory equipment or the Open option softer tire.

Andrea Iannone was .18 faster with the Ducati option soft tire, and Pol beat Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi fair and square on his satellite kit. Pol now looks to extend his Rookie of the Year points lead in tomorrow’s race.
