On Saturday at Silverstone, Marc Marquez pushed a little too hard and low sided in a fairly typical modern MotoGP crash. I was too close at the time to get the entire bike in the frame, shooting as I was with the 500mm lens.

Instead I got a close up of the bike sliding across the tarmac. Sparks from the dragging foot peg and from wheel axel assembly appear as horizontal lines. The rear wheel spins freely with no resistance. I believe the dark blurry bits above the rider are dislocated pieces of Bridgestone tire. Smoke is visible from the friction of the sliding Alpinestars leathers.

The Repsol Honda mechanics had some work to do. But Marc Marquez was fine and won the race the next day.
