One of the frequent criticisms of the previous MotoGP seasons has been that we always see the same riders at the front of each race. Sure, we have yet to see a non-alien win a drug race, which,with the exception of Ben Spies, hasn’t happened since… Loris Capirossi in 2007? Was it a dry race at Motegi that year?

It has been a long time, anyway. But the first grid of 2015 suggests that the current rules may finally bring an end to this statistic:
