Killalane Road Races
Since 1984, the Killalane Road Races have been run by the Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club about 35 kilometres north of Dublin City. This Road Race is traditionally the final race of the year and inevitably there are always tight battles at the top to gain those precious points to close out a Championship crown.
As usual, the weather gods were asked for reasonable weather and luckily, they delivered. Dry conditions for all races, no wets required at all…
The busy schedule of 12 races went like clockwork for the most part and a very large and appreciative crowd were treated to some fantastic racing throughout the day.
Michael Dunlop took the Grand Final win in impressive style on his MD Racing Superbike when Dublin’s Derek Sheils, who was leading for the first 3 laps, had to retire from the race due to a waterhose clip coming loose on his bike. An unlucky end to an otherwise excellent season for Derek.
Both 600cc Supersport races were won by William Dunlop, with Derek McGee taking the 650cc Supertwins win.
So, this was my last Road Race for 2015 and I’d like to thank PhotoGP and Scott for sharing some of my photos with you.
Lots more to come in 2016!
