Dani Pedrosa pit lane Indy MotoGP by Tony Goldsmith

The only rider to win two MotoGP races at Indianapolis, Dani Pedrosa has his work cut out for him in today’s race.

Seven tenths behind teammate Marc Marquez, Pedrosa said about the session: “In qualifying I wasn’t able to improve my best time with my second tire because I couldn’t do it on the three attempts I had at a hot lap. When you don’t improve on this second run, you are always going to have people move ahead of you on the grid. The times are very close and unfortunately for us we had a bad qualifying session.”

Over the course of the race, Pedrosa should be strong and make it to the front, but his chances of finally beating his teammate this season aren’t helped by a third row start.
