Marc Marquez can clinch his second consecutive MotoGP championship this weekend at the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi.

Shown above interacting with MotoGP fans at Indianapolis Motor Speed way earlier in the season, Marquez needs to leave Japan with at least a 75 point lead over his closest rivals, Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi.

If Marquez wins the race at Motegi, he is the 2014 world champ. If he doesn’t win but finishes ahead of Pedrosa, Rossi, and Lorenzo he’s world champ. From there is gets a bit more complicated. For all the permutations AND a chart or two, head over to MotoMatters for the full story.
