CotA 2015 Motogp: for the first time it’s wet and cold here in Austin, Texas – for the first time that MotoGP is here, at least. The weather is the main story, as Friday saw cold, off and on rain conditions. The morning session was full on rain, so the riders went out with wet tires. But the afternoon was one of those half and half sessions with a nearly empty track as riders sat in their garages waiting for Karel Abraham to dry the track for them.

Though Dovi stole the honors in FP1, Marquez retook the top spot on the drying track in the afternoon.

Shown here in FP1 with Cota the dog in the background, Crutchlow preferred the drier afternoon track with fewer animals to dodge and grabbed second spot.

Now the Ducati goes well in the wet AND the dry. It’s a new era.

Aleix Espargaro is going well on the factory Suzuki.

Andrea Dovizioso used the fairing with winglets in the dry, but without winglets in the wet.
