Armoy Road Races – “The race of legends”
Around the small village of Armoy, Co. Antrim, The Armoy Road Races “race of legends” took place on 24th and 25th July. A fairly new race to the calendar, it has quickly established itself as a favourite for a lot of fans and riders alike.
Not only is it a great circuit with lots of twists, turns and jumps, but these are roads steeped in Road Racing History. The famous “Armoy Armada” of Mervyn Robinson, Joey Dunlop, Frank Kennedy and Jim Dunlop practiced their racing around this circuit in the 1970’s.
I couldn’t make race-day this year but was lucky enough to be working close by on practice day, so I popped in for a few quick snaps of the practice sessions.
Next stop is the Ulster Grand Prix – The World’s Fastest Road Race!
