2007, my first time back at a race track after many years away. I went up to Sears Point to try out my new Canon 30D at the Ferrari Challenge, just shooting some pics as a fan.

As I walked along the road behind Turn 2, this fellow zoomed by in his red Ford Whatever, pulled over and hopped out. Got a big lens and DSLR out of the trunk, then climbed aboard his mobile shooting platform just like the motor sports version of Ansel Adams.

The photographer (I’ve not seen him since that I know of) took a few shots, then climbed down, stowed the gear in the truck, and sped off.
