Open Teams (12 engines)

Athena Forward Yamaha – Bradl has opened four engines, and his #1 was Withdrawn at Losail, having been used for only two sessions, FP2 and FP3, thereby setting the current record for Least Use (Melandri’s #1 is in 2nd place here, having seen use in three sessions before being Withdrawn). Bradl raced #3 in the first four rounds, then #4 at Le Mans, then #2 at Mugello. #3 was Withdrawn at Mugello, so he has two engines opened, two Withdrawn, and eight engines unopened.

Baz has still opened only two engines, racing #1 four times and #2 twice. He has 10 engines unopened.

Aspar Honda – Hayden has opened three engines, having raced #1 twice and #2 three times. He opened #3 for Mugello and raced it with #2 in his second bike, so now he has 9 unopened engines with none Withdrawn.

Laverty has also opened three engines, having raced each twice. He has nine unopened engines and none Withdrawn, though #1 has not been used since it raced at Jerez.

Cardion AB Honda – Abraham has opened three engines. #1 was raced at Losail and used in each round since, but removed from allocation as of the Jerez warm up. Engine #3 has raced the remaining five rounds. He has nine engines unopened.

LCR Honda – Miller has opened three engines. #1 has raced three times, #3 once, and #2 twice, but it has not seen use since it raced at CotA. Like Marquez’ #2, it may be done but simply has not yet been Withdrawn, or it may be awaiting further use at some point. He has nine engines unopened.

Avintia Ducati – Barbera has opened four engines, #1 racing three times, #2 twice, #4 once and #3 not yet. At Mugello he opened both #3 and #4, though the latter not until FP3. He has eight engines unopened.

Di Meglio’s situation is much the same as Barbera’s, with four engines opened, none Withdrawn, and eight unopened.

IodaRacing Aprilia – DeAngelis made a clean break at Mugello. After using both #1 and #2 in FP1 and FP2, his team listed both as Withdrawn for FP3 and opened #3 and #4, though #4 was not actually used the rest of the weekend. He has eight unopened engines.

In summary, Yamaha and Suzuki are leading the engine use stats, both getting excellent reliability out of only two engines per rider through the first six races.
