Here are the more frequent fallers in Moto3 for the 2014 season. There are eleven names as Ajo and Masbou tied with 13 falls.

Moto2 top ten fallers for 2014 season
While Sam Lowes fell an impressive 25 times in 2014, the Moto2 champion, Tito Rabat fell only 6 times this season. His teammate and runner up, Mika Kallio, fell 7 times. Maverick Vinales fell 8 times, Tom Luthi fell 7 times.

125cc star and World Champion Nico Terol, who has struggled to make good since his switch to Moto2 in 2012, fell only 2 times this season on his way to scoring a total of 2 points and finishing 28th in the final classification. But he has a corner named after him at Valencia (along with Aspar, Nieto, Doohan and Campos), so no worries.

For the top class, the results are as follows:

Compared to the other classes, Bradley Smith’s 16 falls-total isn’t very impressive. But consider than in his rookie year he fell only 7 times. Perhaps he was trying a bit harder with his rookie teammate breathing down his neck? Bautista’s five year MotoGP falls average is 11.4, so he was perhaps pushing a bit this season as well. Espargaro the Younger comes into MotoGP with an impressive fall number, but has Rookie of the Year and Top Satellite Rider honors to show for it. Iannone is right on track as he fell 12 times last season.

Of the remaining riders, the only one whose numbers are comment worthy is Hernandez, who fell 14 times in 2012 and last season led the pack with 20 falls. Nice work cutting the number in half this season.

Taken as a group, the top fallers look like this:

MotoGP’s top faller, Smith, barely makes it into the top ten overall. And in spite of making the top sheet for falls, all but Shah and Warokorn scored some points, and Smith finished 8th in the Championship.

Of course, if you want to think about who earned the most points in spite of falling a fair bit, once again Marc Marquez leads that race. He scored 362 points in spite of 11 falls, and no one comes close to that ratio for 2014.
