When you’re racing your Harley Davidson on dirt instead of asphalt, you have some problems the roadies don’t. Like dirt getting everywhere.

How often do you clean that dirt off? Before each race weekend? It’s just going to get dirty again. As long as the dirt stays on the outside, what’s the difference?

And yet, why trim a fingernail if it’s just going to grow back?

At some point the dirt will get so thick, parts will stop moving. Gotta keep those K&N filters clean. Make sure the chain and sprockets don’t get jammed up.

But other than that, this is a flat track steed. It’s supposed to run dirty. And if it it were too clean, well… This ain’t MotoGP, after all.
