MotoGP Scenes: Sachsenring 2015 Race Day 2
With Rabat having the lead into the final corner, the possibility of a first Moto2 podium was too much for Morbidelli, who tried to stuff it up the inside. He lost the front and crashed, sliding into Rabat. That’s Tito with his foot in the air. Morbidelli is still ‘riding’ his bike, which is underneath Rabat’s.
There’s Franco, still holding on to his ride.
Now we can see better how Morbidelli is trying to save it. A for effort!!!
Rabat’s vector brings him back into the picture as riders and bikes hit the stones.
Morbidelli’s Dainese airbag system has deployed.
Morbidelli was fine, but Rabat sustained a cracked rib and worried that he’d re-injured the broken collarbone he’d sustained not long before in training crash at the Almeria circuit. The titanium plate over his mending collarbone did not need attention. Morbidelli gained valuable experience.
It was Simeon’s first GP victory.
I was only a short distance from the podium, but the path was blocked by this recovery vehicle. That’s Rabat’s bike being prepped for return to the paddock. I couldn’t get my scooter around either side, so I was stuck here until the vehicle moved. That’s life.
