Race Day at Cadwell Park British Superbikes
Sam and Alex Lowes appeared on Sunday, greeting the riders and being interviewed on the grid. I think I can finally tell them apart when they are together. Alex is a bit taller. And it helps when one of them is wearing a Sam Lowes t-shirt.
Tommy Bridewell won Race 1 in 2014 and was hoping to fight with Brookes on track.

When the lights went out, Josh Brookes just had to do his thing, and he did.
A small time advantage each lap quickly adds up to a gap. Brookes was gone in race one until…
The Safety Car came out, I think due to Buchan’s crash. From trackside there’s a lot going on elsewhere that you don’t see.
What I can tell you about that car is that a spiffed out Nissan GT-R goes smartly around a race track. When Race Director Stuart Higgs learned I was at Cadwell Park for the first time, he had a colleague named Chris take me around the track in that same car. Yes, bikes are great, but a fast car can be a blast as well. Thanks to Higgsy and Chris – that lap was a blast!
The Safety Car brought the field back to Brookes. But no one could take advantage to claim the win.
In Race 2, Brookes and Hicky claimed 1st and 2nd again, but Tommy Bridewell grabbed the third spot on the box.
At the end of the day, there may not have been much suspense about who would win, but at least there was a sense that justice had been achieved, the fastest man had ruled the day.
But as with any motorbike race, it’s not only the riders at the front who are racing hard, not only the riders at the front who deserve a photo for their efforts…
