Silverstone MotoGP Photos: Race Day
Moto2 was the first race of the day and the mixed conditions punished the Dunlop tires. Sam Lowes was on pole and had high hopes of doing that very short list of British riders to win at home.
But once again it was Johann Zarco who seized control and took the victory.
Jorge Lorenzo lead early on, but equipment trouble was waiting for him.
Lorenzo was forced to slow down when his visor fogged up and inhibited his ability to see the track.
For comparison, same point of the race, same section of track, Danilo Petrucci’s visor is clear, Lorenzo’s is not.
Hector Barbera had trouble of his own with a cracked windscreen. The culprit? Yonny Hernandez.
When Hernandez crashed in the first turn, part of his Ducati bounced up into Barbera’s face.
Barbera had to clear the situation before worrying about the race. (Nice photo bomb by Eugene Laverty!)
